JMR Consultants Ltd
JMR Consultants (JMRC Limited) was established in July 2000 to meet the recruitment needs of clients in the not-for-profit sector. In addition to Board and Senior Executive recruitment, JMR Consultants offers a range of complementary director development and executive support products and services.
Who we are
Following ten years with executive search consultancy Jamieson Scott / Prowess working with a wide range of clients in the private, public and voluntary sectors, Jocelyn Ridley and Ann Gill established JMR Consultants in July 2000.
JMR Consultants is a specialist consultancy providing Board and Senior Executive recruitment services to the not-for-profit sector.
JMR Consultants aims to bring together the results-driven culture of the private sector with the ethos, principles and values of the public and voluntary sectors.
Jocelyn has more than twelve years’ experience recruiting at Board and Senior Management levels in the private, public and voluntary sectors. Her assignments have included the roles of Chair, Chief Executive, Executive and Non Executive Board Members and Senior Managers across a range of functions including, in the private sector, manufacturing, retail, professional services, transport, IT and e-commerce and, in the public and voluntary sectors, similar roles across government agencies and commissions, professional institutions, housing associations and charities.
Jocelyn has a degree in Psychology and – following time as a social worker in Liverpool and a personnel manager with Marks & Spencer – she spent many years in the publishing industry, working both in the UK and overseas.
In 1990 Jocelyn joined Jamieson Scott as an executive recruitment consultant. From 1995 Jamieson Scott became increasingly involved in recruitment in the public sector, and from 1997 Jocelyn took over responsibility as principal consultant for Jamieson Scott / Prowess in the not-for-profit sector.
Jocelyn is an Independent Assessor for NHS Appointments Commission South Region and for OCPA (Office for the Commissioner for Public Appointments). She is also a member of the management committee of London Cyrenians.
Ann GillAnn has twenty years’ recruitment and HR experience at senior management level with a FTSE 100 company and, as a result, brings with her an invaluable range and depth of HR skills and expertise.
As a recruitment consultant – first with Jamieson Scott / Prowess and more recently with JMR Consultants – Ann has worked with a variety of clients across a range of successful assignments in the private, public and voluntary sectors. These have included all functions at Board and Senior Management level in IT, manufacturing, transport, regional government, national charities, and professional firms and institutions.
Ann is an Independent Assessor for the NHS Appointments Commission South Region and is a member of the Appeal Panels under the NHS Complaints Procedure. She is also closely involved with a number of local charities.
The Society wanted to recruit a female Non Executive Director to replace a long-standing director soon to retire from the Board. JMR Consultants, who had been involved in the recruitment of two of the present Board, was invited to find a suitable individual to meet a very demanding specification. This was not an easy assignment but JMR Consultants was able to supply a good short-list of candidates for the Society’s Nominations and Governance Committee to meet. The service provided by JMR Consultants was professional and efficient, and demonstrated the necessary determination to fulfil.
